At first I was thinking - why on earth is everyone on hellobee so into this kitchen, they must either be furniture assembly geniuses or total suckers for punishment - but it looks so cute together and so much less of an eyesore than some of them that it's worth it now... I don't think kids really have a preference of plastic vs. wood, but I think the wood ones look much nicer!<br /> We got it for DD1 for Christmas when she was 20 months. Unfortunately, it was kind of a flop for her, not due to age, she just has never really liked playing kitchen! I decided on that one because it has lots of storage and blends in well with our decor, as well as fits in the small space we had available. They're much better quality than Step2's plastic; and they look more realistic.</p> <p>However, I think you're buying way too far in advance. Both of my kids weren't interested until about 20-22 months, so I would wait until next Christmas. It’s very well made I think.
