Thanks everyone! I ended up going to the leaving a bit early from the ceremony and going to the reception because LO was feeling pretty good. LO was totally fine with my ILs and her fever stayed low. MIL said she fussed some, but seemed tired more than anything. We will check in with the ped in the morning.

We had a fever for days last week with no other symptoms. Turned out it was a double ear infection (she never even tugged her ears!) fever went away after 4 days and then rash came. Turns out to be roseola.

I would go only because I really trust DDs grandma (MIL). She sends text updates and I could always be a drive away.

Side note: when I first called dr I got the nurse emergency line and she said fever connected to teething was a myth! But I had always assumed that too :\ but who knows

I think you are ok to go to the wedding since it's close and you have a trusted caretaker. I agree with alternating the medicines to keep it down. It could be something like roseola where there are no other symptoms until the fever breaks so I think it's ok to just keep an eye on things and see how it progresses. I would probably skip the reception though . Good luck hope your Lo feels better!

@travelgirl1: @owlmom: LO is 10 months old. The grandparents are actually here visiting, so they're at our house. Or house is 20 minutes from the ER, the wedding is ~15 minutes away from our house, and the reception is ~45 minutes away from our house. The grandparents are very diligent and will follow any instructions to a T. They were excellent about keeping us updated last night while we were at the rehearsal and dinner (when the fever was still really low).

I think I'm going to go to the wedding, come home between t he ceremony and reception (which I was planning on anyway), and then see how she is from there. My gut tells me that I won't be going to the reception.

Poor baby :( It's hard to say if it's serious or not. Baby could be coming down with something, or it may be roseola (high fever for 3-ish days with no other symptoms, then baby breaks out in a rash that usually isn't uncomfortable). For me, going to the wedding would depend on baby's age. Under 3 months, I wouldn't go. Between 3 months and a year, I would only go to the wedding if the grandparents' house was close to the wedding or ER, and I would ask them to check baby's temp every hour, closely monitor baby, and update me periodically (and of course let me know as soon as anything dramatic changed). The older the LO, the less intense I would be about updates, but that's just me.

How close is the wedding to where the grandparents live? And are the grandparents really good and diligent at checking fevers/calling if there was a problem? That would affect my decision about the wedding... Poor baby, hope your LO feels better soon!

Buy some Tylenol as well so you can alter between Advil and Tylenol. Give luke warm baths. It could be nothing but babies fevers can go south really fast, so I wouldn't go to the wedding.

LO had a similar situation last week. Higher fever between 102-103.6 for 48 hours and Tylenol didn't help (we are not sure if he can tolerate advil). He had some other issues but two pediatrician's thought they were unrelated to the fever and GI issue we are checking out. Basically they could find nothing wrong with him and we had to just ride the fever out and track his diapers (he's almost 23 mo).

I personally would not go to the wedding but obviously send DH. I am just not comfortable leaving LO when he isn't feeling well and wants his mommy anyway.

LO has been running a fever since yesterday evening. It got up to 102.6 at 3:30 this morning, went down with a dose of Advil, but has been climbing up again in the past few hours. There is little to no congestion, no rash (a bit of a diaper rash), normal poops, and she has been eating decently, but not as much as normal. She's playing we'll as long as we keep up the medicine.

I've called the pediatrician, and we're just monitoring the situation. She thinks she's coming down with something. We have orders to go to the hospital should the fever get to 103.
She has been teething, but 102 is pretty high for a teething fever.

So, I have 2 questions.
1. Do you think this serious?
2. Would you go to a wedding/reception today if you were me? Really good friends, DH is a groomsman, and grandparents would be keeping LO.
