I still call my 15 month old a baby, but she really isn't. She talks like crazy, and she's just about to start walking on her own. I'd say after about 12 months you're pretty much done.

I agree 18 months is a better cut off. Some kids hit it before that but that seems about right.

I say 18 months is the exit of babyhood. That is when daycare in our area considers them toddlers

I feel like that at 15 months they would still be considered a baby.

This was actually one of the things we discussed in my child development class. We didn't come up with an answer

I used to think anything after 12 months was considered a toddler. But now I think 18 months is the ultimate cutoff for babyhood.

Olive is almost 15 months (not adjusted for her being born 5 weeks early) and she is such a baby in so many ways!

She doesn't walk, she doesn't really talk much (she knows 10 words or so, but rarely uses them)... actually those are the big ones. But the result is that it still seems like she's a baby! :)

I know we're gonna miss it when Olive starts to toddle around and talk. Her prolonged baby period has been a true blessing to our family! Not just because we enjoy it so much, but because it means she can get in less trouble and is easier to watch haha!

Can a 15-month-old child still be considered an infant/baby? Is the cutoff when the kid can walk and talk... or is it something else?
