@NorCalWayfarer: I don't use these products currently, but I know Giovanni products are non-toxic and they get great reviews. I liked their leave-in conditioner. They sell it at Whole Foods, and you can find it at Target sometimes.

Anyone know if any of these products are non-toxic/"green"? (other than coconut oil of course) I just switched to Shikai and I've been liking it, but am about to run out. Thanks!

Totally cosigning the coconut oil recommendation. Extra Virgin is best and you can buy a hug tub in Amazon for not much.

I have tried hundreds of curl cremes, but what I'm really liking now is Aussie Sprunch mousse. I use a heavy conditioner and don't rinse it all the way out, so I don't need that much moisture - just a curling product.

@ohapostrophe: Plopping is awesome! I am always running late though so I never do it anymore. But it makes for the perfect frizz free curls.

I've been using Deva Curl products for about 10 years now. I've tried other products occasionally and nothing works as well for me. I use the gel and it isn't crunchy.

deva curl products! they sell them on Amazon and Sephora-- I use the shampoo and conditioner as well, but for style, the Angel gel (now just called "light defining gel") is awesome and not crunchy at all, and I love the B'Leave-In conditioner

Back before my hair changed, I used to use (and LOVE) Ouidad products. It was created by and for women with all kinds of curly hair. If you go to their website, you can take this little quiz and it'll tell you exactly what products you need.

@babyjmama: I use Suave too! I've used it for 9 years and haven't found a better mousse.

I've really been loving coconut oil lately. It keeps my hair from getting frizzy 100% of the time. The only problem is making sure you don't use too much because then it looks like you have oily hair! I perfected the amount while on maternity leave. It also doesn't give a boost to your curls like mousse and gels do, just keeps them from getting frizzy. So, it's great if you have good curls/wave

Coconut oil - and a cute baby ;)

I'm African American with curly hair. I use Miss Jessie's. Not sure if it would work, but they don't only have black models, so you could try it. I like the Stretch Silkining Creme because although my hair is curly, it shrinks. ugh! They have free samples on the site as well.

I've been using Moroccan oil cream lately and liking it. Also I just started trying this technique called "plopping"...check YouTube, but basically you let your hair dry wrapped up in a cloth/tshirt. WAY less frizz; I am liking my hair curly for the first time kind of ever.

@LindsayInNY: Organix Moroccan curling perfection defining cream is decent, but only if you use a very small amount. Otherwise, you end up looking a little oily. Garnier Fructis style soft curl cream is pretty good, as well.

Ah, yes, I have similar hair.

I use Kevin Murphy's "Easy Rider". It's a wonderful anti-frizz creme - a little goes a long way. http://www.kevinmurphy.com.au/products/styling_productdetail.php?id=17

Aveda's "Be Curly" is also a great curling product, I just found the scent offensive while pregnant. http://www.aveda.com/product/5218/16397/Collections/Be-Curly%3Csup%3ETM%3C/sup%3E/index.tmpl?cm_mmc=GoogleProductSearch-_-Null-_-Null-_-Null
