It's all old wives tale garbage; there's nothing you can do to cause or prevent miscarriage in terms of emotional state. I am on my third (and first successful, so far) pregnancy, exact same experience as @simplyfelicity: --I have felt like I was going to have a heart attack every day here. With my third pregnancy, I was a nervous wreck and it resulted in my son.
