Totally fine! Heck - I painted our nursery while pregnant! Just make sure you have decent ventilation.

From what I have been told most paints are low VOC now so if you are choosing a high quality paint, you should be totally fine.

One of my coworkers painted her nursery by herself at 37 weeks and just had a beautiful healthy boy! I don't think you should have a problem.

My mom and husband painted while I was 20 weeks (using pregnancy to get out chores since 2013!) and it was fine. The only thing is that the smell gave me a bit of a headache, but I don't think that was pregnancy related.

We just painted last weekend and I'm 27 weeks (well, DH painted. I watched Gilmore Girls). Made sure to have windows open and fans on, and bought no VOC paint.

Since the windows are open and you're not sleeping in that room, you should be okay.

yes, i am planning to do some painting myself and one of my pregnancy apps gave me the idea to wear a face mask, but didn't say not to do it.

I double checked with my doctor, just to reassure my husband. He said it's not like you're rolling around in it! I also painted the nursery and our bedroom, both in the late second and early third trimesters. Low VOC paints will help with the smell of the fumes, and the very minimal off-gassing.

This is one of those things that is really up to you, but I think it is fine, especially if they are painting during the day and you are not in the house at that point. I was in the house (in another room) while painting was going on while I was pregnant with LO and it was fine. We had all the windows wide open all day and used a low VOC paint.

Well...I painted our bathroom at 37 weeks pregnant (nesting like crazy), my doctor said I was fine as long as windows were open, and a fan was going so there was some fresh air. We got high quality paint so the fumes weren't that strong.

Is it safe to sleep in the house when two rooms (not my bedroom) are being painted? I'm 22 weeks. I plan to keep our bedroom door closed and won't be in the house during the day, when they are painting the rooms. It's super hot here, so we will keep the windows open during the day and put our AC on at night. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and plan to ask then. Just curious what others think.
