@Silva: No need to apologize! When we went through the same thing a couple weeks back I said to DH, "Forget maternity leave. Can I go back to work tomorrow?!"

I assure you it will pass though. *hugs*

And congrats on the job offer :) Even if you're not taking it, it's still a nice ego boost.

@heartonastring: dude, this is not the week to stay home with a baby. I got a job offer yesterday and was ready to throw in the towel on the SAH thing (my plan is to go back part time at 18 months). This morning my husband complained about a sore back and I was like "have fun talking to adults aNd doing varied, interesting things all day."

We will make it. The extreme joy I feel knowing that we have story time this morning is absurd, and a younger, single me would be crying in a corner about the state of things should she get a glimpse of the future.

Whew. Sorry for the vent, thanks for listening

@hilsy85: she has been drooling, but I can't see anything yet. She did just get one on the bottom. Unfortunately I think it's kind of building on itself.

Do you think she's ready for two naps?

There is a 9 month regression unfortunately!!

At that age I moved from a 2-3-4 schedule to naps at 9am (3 hours after he woke up) and 2pm (usually 3.5-4 hours after he woke up from 1st nap).

@locavore_mama: okay, my other question is this. Typically we do 2 hours before AM nap, then 3 hours until afternoon nap. Should I really stick to this and start her afternoon nap at friggin 11:30? She will wake up at noon?! Yesterday I did that, and ended up needing a third nap...which might have contributed to the bed time issues.
Or stretch and try to keep her up until 1, which is when she usually naps?

@heartonastring: I keep thinking "oh, it will get better soon." At least we got a good stretch last night. We are headed to stay with some friends this weekend....beginning to suspect a sleep apocalypse.

K had a cold like that a few weeks ago - just a slightly runny nose, no other noticeable symptoms. It was the week from sleep hell. She went from waking 1x/night around 5 /6 am to three night wakings and one night when she was awake four four freaking hours straight!

And then, after a week, it got better and she started STTN with no wake-ups! So hang in there.

We also elevated her mattress and kept the humidifier going for nighttime and naps. Oh, and we put eucalyptus oil in the humidifier.

Sorry that she's not feeling well :(

LOL probably not. You can run a cool mist humidifier to help with the congestion. I also like sitting in a steamy shower with eucalyptus as well. And I also put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the humidifier.

LO took over 90 minutes to go to sleep last night, and has been take 30 minute naps for several days now. She has a little bit of a runny nose, but no other symptoms. I've only had to suction her a couple times, the congestion isn't impacting her breathing or nursing.

Is this a regression or just a reaction to the cold? She is getting exhausted (and so am I). I don't know what to do to help her get some sleep!
