Main reason being they are common allergens and doctors would rather treat a reaction in a 1 year old than a 7 month old.</p> <p>Otherwise as long as you aren't aware of issues (lactose, gluten, etc) you should be fine.</p> <p>My BIGGEST suggestion is to always be there while they are eating. Then you will notice if they start reacting to something or choke. Seems like common sense, but moms are busy! I often find myself running to change the laundry or washing dishes etc while my LO is eating. My first choked on a hot dog bun (stuck so many of the little pieces in his mouth at once they formed a ball in his throat) and THANK THE LORD I was just at the sink doing dishes because I had to do the baby heimlich! Thankfully he was fine - it just a little scary for mommy!
