Ice ended up helping me more than heat though. Fwiw, I had horrible SI pain like that with my last pregnancy, and physical therapy was a Godsend. My ob actually said no to the heating pad, but yes to a cold pack, for 20min. But I also want to say that the early 20-ish weeks were the worst for my lower back with both pregnancies.
