In my practice I have requested a midwife delivery rather than OB but there are three midwives so I will get whoever is on call. Maybe you can request a midwife delivery and if she is not available there is a back up or hospital midwiife that fills in. Although I was skeptical that the midwife would handle my medical issues well, I've been impressed! On a whim I decided to try her suggestion to switch from Zofran to Zantac and OMG my severe nausea is gone! After I've tried to explain my nausea to the MFMs and OBs she is the only one to think of a cause other than "it's normal to be nauseated when you're pregnant". I love her and want her to deliver my baby! Do you think this is something I can request? </p>
