I'm going to buy the tub and fill it with odds and ends!" other people can see that those items are bought - whether you registered for them or not - before they try the same idea. </p> <p>I think it helps with returns, too - at least at babies r us, they were able to track every purchase that used my rewards card (which was on my registry). so if someone bought a bunch of random things and didn't give me a gift receipt, and didn't have my registry scanned, I was kind of out of luck - I'd have to try to return somewhere without a receipt. My parents bought me some stuff off my registry this weekend. I just logged on to my Buy buy baby registry and saw that 13 items have been bought. So me being the looky loo that I am, peeked and most of them are items that I did not register for.... Or did my parents buy these items at the same time for themselves and it somehow added it to the registry? </p>
