@banana: don't worry! There is still a lot of time to get him prepared for having a sibling. Maybe do some special activities and day trips with him before the baby arrives!

@andrea: I borrowed one from a friend but he wasn't interested so I just kind of put it aside. But now I'm thinking that he's a lot more aware than I thought. So I"m gonna go buy a few more big brother books and read to him, even if it doesn't "seem" like he's that interested.

I'm so surprised at how totally aware 2 year olds are! I guess I underestimated him. I feel so bad now that I might have hurt his feelings. ;(

@andrea: LOL!! How cute...My son isn't the biggest verbal communicator so I think he lets out his feelings and emotions through his actions. He was seriously a totally different kid. I was scared that something was wrong with him health-wise. But when I'm not around, he's totally fine. It's only when I'm there when he starts acting odd. Sigh.

Aw sad. I am sure he knows something is up. I keep asking my LO if mommy should have a baby and she keeps saying NO. I can't even trick her into saying Yes once! I will always ask her a series of questions where she will answer yes to but when I get to the baby one she says NO every time.

My son is 23 months and I'm 5 months pregnant. My mom said she has NO DOUBT that he "senses" it and it's making him sad. That makes me sad too. :(

Two days ago, I decided to show my pregnant belly to my toddler to "introduce" him to the new baby. I lifted up my shirt to just reveal my tummy and I said "Look! Baby is in here." He quickly put my shirt down and walked away. I didn't think anything of it. The very next day, he had his first 100+ degrees fever ever. It only lasted 24 hours. This morning, he was SUPER clingy to me and he's usually like that with dad. My DH was sad about it (like he was losing his son or something) so I kind of just ducked out of the living room where we were at and let them hang out together to reconnect. And just an hour ago, he threw the most massive tantrum in the middle of his nap. And the whole time he was bawling "Ahhhh mama...ahhhhh mama" and he never cries for me like that. And he hardly ever wakes up in the middle of a nap.

I'm wondering if his change in behavior has anything to do with my pregnant. Or if I'm just thinking this all up in my head.

Do you think a toddler can sense when mommy is pregnant?
