@stiletto_mom: I had a two day temp shift while I charted. I don't think that necessarily indicates a progesterone problem. Other than the irregular cycles, the other stuff sounds pretty normal - I have allergy symptoms and get cold easily, too, but no progesterone issues.

Interesting. Thanks so much.

That would confirm that by CD23, I've ovulated, but my temperature didn't rise until CD 25. Does that mean I'm a slow progesterone riser? It would be 2+ days.

Your lining would be thicker after you ovulated. But they could also tell by looking at your ovaries like the others have said.

@MenagerieMama: This is what I was going to say. They can look at the follicle and tell if the egg has been released.

Usually they would tell by looking at your ovaries! You would look for the follicle that matured and burst, i.e. ovulated.

When I went in for my first ultrasound at 8 weeks, the ultrasound tech mentioned that I likely ovulated from my left ovary because it looked swollen and large. I wonder if they could look at the size of your ovaries and tell if you ovulated?

I went in for an ultrasound at the fertility clinic and asked the technician who was doing it if she tell if I had ovulated or not (it was CD23 that day, but my temperature had not gone up). She said that judging by my endometrium, it looked like I had.

I wanted to know how the uterine lining can tell you whether or not I have ovulated?

If this is true, it would mean that I am a slow temp riser. I already suspect I may have low progesterone because of other symptoms, but this would support the theory.

- irregular cycles
- headaches before period
- bad cramps day before and day of period
- heavy menstrual flow
- PMS
- 12 day luteal phase
- spotting days leading to period
- allergy symptoms
- cyclic break outs
- get cold easily
- TTC cycle #14

And more, but I'm hesitant to call them symptoms of low progesterone just yet. I don't want to read into anything that isn't there.
