N got his cast off today. He is in a finger splint for two more weeks. We have to go back to get signed off. We also had to reschedule his allergy appointment to the same day. So in two weeks we should finally get answers to his allergy issues.

We still have a neuro consult coming up for N in the near future. I am hoping to schedule it tomorrow. I guess the silver lining in a of this is we have met our deductiable and out of pocket costs already this year.

@MrsRcCar: You guys really need a break...hopefully this is taking care of your bad health quota for the year or something! And N doesn't need ear infections seriously. Is it possible that the antibiotics he was on previously just don't affect ear infections? I forgot what J took when he started to get an ear infection but it wasn't those.

I just need to whine a little. Sorry. :bummed:
On feb 5th N got his finger crushed in a piece of machinery. He fractured his finger and pulled his nail out of the bed. February 6th N had his audiology appointment, which we were informed that his hearing is within normal limits but just barely. They want to follow him at 3 to ensure his hearing doesn't decline.
Later that day we met with ortho about his hand. The doctor insisted on same day surgery for his finger. Surgery went very well.
We started N on his first antibiotic. They started him on Keflex. It is normally a fine broad spectrum antibiotic. After 5 days on the medicine he broke out in hives. We stopped the medicine and got put on Clindamyicin to continue his antibiotic treatment for his wound. We finished our 5 day run of that and he broke out in hives again! He finished that run on this past Thursday. Friday and Saturday he had small patches of hives.
On Sunday he woke up with all over hives. He was miserable all day Sunday. I called his regular doctor, the allergist, and his surgeon. They all advised me to treat his hives and be seen by his primary provider.
Today we went to the doctor to confirm the rash as hives and get steroids to lessen the effect. While we were there she checked him over to make sure everything else checked out. Well it didn't. It turns out he has a double ear infection. :crying: So we are back on the antibiotic train.
Tomorrow we go to see the surgeon to get his cast off and meet with allergist. Tomorrow the allergist isn't going to be all the testing because he has been put on benedryl to take care of the hives. I am hoping when the cast comes off that his finger looks great. I am nervous because of he has an ear infection after just getting off an antibiotic did they work for his hand?

Plus my youngest is cutting teeth. This momma needs a good nights sleep and some pampering.

/vent
Thank you if you got through all of this.
