I am not sure but I think that is called debt consolidation. But then there is a fee for that too.

@MrsBrewer: you could also rate shop at a credit union usually their are tiers based on credit score and years financing. Check out Unitus CCU let Carnax know the rate you qualify for and ask them to match it.

@youboots: oh wow how awesome! Our loan right now is just through Carmax, so I'm not sure if they would do something like that. But it's totally worth a try!

@MrsBrewer: I know you can request the same due date as your existing loan. Also can your bank and see if they can evaluate your car for a reduced interest rate- it's not a refi just a loan modification. We bought a new car in Dec 15 and I called in after paying a year and got the points down .5% I think it was $25 and I had to sign on it. But my loan is through a credit union

@youboots: yuck, I definitely don't want a higher rate. I'm just thinking for the simplicity of budgeting, and less payments!

I think you could hold it as a personal loan- but the rates are higher. I've never heard of holding 2 titles on the same loan.

So we have 2 vehicles right now, one is fully paid off (a sedan) and an SUV, that we have 3 years left on the loan. We are going to be trading in the sedan for a minivan, but I was wondering, instead of having 2 car loans.....can I refinance and just put them together??? That way we only have 1 car payment?? Is that a thing, or am I making that up?
