@MamaMoose: Why not? I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal to have another card (I currently only have two credit cards).

@yoursilverlining: Thanks for the clarification!

@Adira: you can get a second card for your husband, but everything is billed the the main (ie, your) account statement - it's not broken out by card. We have the amazon card too, and do ours this way.

@PurplePumps: @sunny: I get 2% on groceries, gas stations, drugstores, restaurants, almost all the places I use my card. I didn't realize there were cards better than that...oops :)

For the sake of your credit I would not open an additional credit card just for the sake of making it easier to track purchases.

@Adira: Ahh I see what you want. I have no idea with the Amazon card as I don't have one. I agree with @PurplePumps: though, there are better rewards programs out there!

My fave is Chase Freedom. We just went to Japan for nearly free (we paid taxes of $50 or so and paid an infant fare) based on the points! For general cashback, I like the Amex and Visa Fidelity cards. Amex is 2% everywhere (no cap) and Visa is 1.5%. Both beat the Amazon card except actually at Amazon, except from Nov-Dec, it is 5% cashback at Amazon this year, so it beats the Amazon card during that timeframe.

Another option is an Amex issued by Amex (confusing eh? The Fidelity Amex is issued by BoA). My Amex statements break out transactions by which user made them.

It's been so long since I got my Amazon card that I can't remember how they link to an account. Unless you plan on making a lot of purchases from Amazon with that second card, it's not really worth getting that same card again imo. And you can always just continue to make Amazon purchases with the Amazon card and just take note of if it's yours or joint. There are better reward cards out there imo. In reality Amazon is just a 1% reward on non Amazon purchases. Cards like Discover, Chase freedom, Citibank have a rotating 5% category and are also 1%, as well as bonus merchant rewards on Discover, sometimes upwards of 10% for online shopping at Target or Kohls. Bank of America cash rewards is 3% on gas and 2% on groceries, and 1% on everything else. For me, I dont think the amazon card is that great for everyday things and only use that card for amazon purchases.

@sunny: @jetsa: Do you know if I have a second user, will his charges appear in the same bill as my charges? My goal is to have two separate bills so I can easily distinguish between my personal charges and Hubs & my charges together. With ideally all the points being accumulated to my Amazon.com account.

Anyone know if you can have a second Amazon.com credit card? I currently have one and I LOVE all the points. But I'd like to have a second one to use for Hubs and my purchases together. But I want all the points to go to our one Amazon.com account. Anyone know if this is possible??
