And fun fact, my parents used to be neighbors with Nagelieri, the guy that created the test. He is a psychology professor at the local university.</p> <p>We actually give it in first grade though, as part of the kids' portfolios that will follow them through second grade when they can be found eligible for GT programs that start in third grade. </p> <p>It's so interesting to watch kids take the test. Some totally guess anything and others are much more thoughtful and really get it. However, it drives me batty that there are test preparations for this! I wonder if they ask the kids for explanations ever. Apparently when I was in kindergarten they got me to do stuff like this (just not as abstract). One time I was given three pictures, a glass of milk, an empty glass and one that was half full. I arranged it half full glass, empty glass, full glass and when asked why, I said "I had a glass of milk, then I drank it and then Mama filled it up again".
