At night we can pretty easily. Naps are a bit more rare that we can get her back down.

Normally my kids are champions - champions of the early wake up (Hello, mom! It's 6 am! Are you awake yet, cause I am!); champion nap takers (So here's the plan - you take a nap, then I'll take a nap, then you'll take another nap and mom will get jack diddly done!); and champion night sleepers (Besides giggling for half an hour before falling into an exhausted sleep this part's actually true as both kids sleep through the night).

But occasionally one of them just doesn't get enough sleep. Usually it's DD who is younger and therefore needs more sleep to restore her energy. It's hard work keeping up with DS who is taller, stronger, and faster than she is! But today DS is fighting tooth and nail against a nap. I'm not against the occasional no nap day but I'm solo parenting most of the night and I reeeeeeeeeeeally just needed some down time.

Well after a late nap - and a second nap for DD - DS woke up cranky. Whiny, clingy, and when I hold and rock him, rubbing his back, he's nearly asleep again. Naturally I lay him back down and after some protesting, he rolled over and went back to sleep. This is super duper rare! Usually he's so stubborn!

How about you, can you put your LO back to bed?
