That started happening for me around 37 weeks (or maybe earlier?) as well. I started timing them whenever I thought they were coming in regular intervals just to make sure I wasn't getting to 5-1-1 and starting early labor. The joke was on me. Even during my active labor my contractions never got to 5 minutes apart. They were usually 10-15 minutes apart.

Well I went in today I because of all the braxton hicks I asked to be checked! Well, they were worth something at least! I'm 80% effaced and dilated to 1.5cm!!

@banana: That's how I was last Thursday! I was literally constant all day long! It felt like my poor tummy didn't get a break all day! Then the next day wasn't as many but I still have had a lot. This is my first so I have nothing to compare it to or to go off of! I am 37 weeks + 3 days, so we are pretty close together! I'm ready to just get it all over with!!!

@amohror: I've been getting CRAZY Braxton Hicks lately too! I'm 37 weeks + 1 day. I seriously thought I was gonna go into full on labor last night because I was getting them every 12-20 minutes for about an hour. And then they just stopped. But this morning, I got a few more and they're gone again. I dont remember getting this many with my son!

@Amohror: It does get tricksies! It is so much easier to notice when they start versus when they stop.

@Minnie_Girl: Yes! I have started to efface, my doctor checked me two weeks ago and it had started but at the time I wasnt dilated any. I wasn't having as many bh then though. I don't think she was planning on checking me until next week but I go in tomorrow so I may ask :)

Haha, apparently you can! I hear you can have labor all day too. ;) It's great practice for your muscles before they go all the way. Have you been examined to see if you're starting to efface? (Just curious if there could be a link between BH & the swiftness/progression of stage 1 labor)

@BabyBoecksMom: I must be one of those women then because I still have been having a lot! I'm going to my check up tomorrow and will mention it :)

@MsLipGloss: I tried counting one day but had a very hard time figuring out when they ended!

I had them all day starting around 20 weeks and going through 40 weeks. So annoying and uncomfortable! I would have 7-10 an hour but my doctor said some women just have a lot.

Yes - it happens to me all the time (32 weeks).

My OB told me to count them by the hour (more than 5 in an hour means just come on down to L&D, or if they were combined with any low back pain and/or spotting), but that she was not surprised (due to my work schedule) that I had them frequently throughout the day.

@MamaMoose: I will definitely keep an eye on it...I've noticed it a lot today but I haven't kept track of any of them. I just know it's been a lot! Thank you!!

@aMohror: ok good! In that case I would just keep an eye on it and call your doc if the contractions get regular and close together. Having them all day long sounds like a good sign to me! Good luck!!

@MamaMoose: I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so I'm not worried at all :) I'm not in a ton of pain though, just crampy I guess. I hate this not knowing what to expect!

Hmmhhh I would think that might be early labor. Are you full term? Or are you concerned about pre term labor?

I swear I have had them this entire day :( It's not comfortable at all and they seem to last for quite some time. Does this mean I am any closer to labor or is this normal? I haven't had them this much in one day before....
