If it's a lot I will use it for the next feeding as long as we aren't out & about.

I came across this last night, while it is of course best to follow the published guidelines, it is interesting to see what you *could* potentially get away with ;)

We go by the rule that you can use it at the next feeding and then toss.

I used to save what my LO didn't finish when I was bottle feeding her.

oh yes i would def save it for the next feeding. my lactation consultant told me that those conservative guidelines are really for preemie babies. that milk is too precious and i would always save it for the next feeding if they don't finish. i usually stick it in the fridge but a lot of people just keep the bottle at room temp.

but if they don't finish it at the next feeding, then toss it.

We have been storing unfinished bottles in the fridge and then reheating it with hot running water. Its only in the fridge a few hours before another feeding so we haven't gotten to freeze anything just yet.

LO was fussy at when breastfeeding tonight so I thought she had gas. Usually when she's like that, I'll take her off, feed her a bottle and she'll poop and fart afterwards. (If I try to keep breastfeeding her, she'll squirm around and feel like she's ripping my nipple off). Well tonight I made her a bottle with 3 oz, but she only took about an oz (I guess she got more off the breast than I thought). Is there anyway I can save the other 2 oz??
