@NerdBee: it has continued to rise & was 97.9 this am.We ended up dtd twice Sunday. We haven't done that in years! Dh still hurts really bad but he thinks that his libo is starting to comeback now that he is completely off all his meds. :-)

@Sugar.Biscuit: I was reading your post too fast and I thought you said you did it 4 times on Sunday and I was like "wow, you go girl!"! Lol

Did your temps continue to stay high on Sunday and this morning? If so then I would say there is a good chance that you O'd on cd12.

I think the algorithms that FF uses is not always perfect because it can't take into account all situations. In this case FF probably thinks that you O'd in cd9 because of the dip and rise in temp. But according to the TCOYF, a temp shift the indicates ovulation only occurs if the shift is at least 2/10 of a degree above your last 6 highest temps after AF. Following the TCOYF rules, you could not have ovulated in cd9 because your cd9 temp was not high enough. Also, not all women will exhibit the dip in temp at O. I never did.

I absolutely recommend reading TCOYF. The rules make a lot of sense. I used it for birth control for 9 cycles with no oops and the first cycle that we ttc we got a BFP even though my cycle was wonky. We would never have conceived first cycle if I didnt chart.

Keep taking your temps. 18 or more high temps mean BFP! I'm rooting for you!! Hope you're baking a little bun right now!!

@NerdBee: DH surprised the hell out of me after my birthday Saturday & we dtd. Well it was technically 4 in the morning on Sunday, it was a crazy late night! You think we still might have a chance? DH was such a super trooper, he asked me afterwords if I thought we could have conceived. I didn't know how to answer that. I told him I thought we were to late but it could be possible, maybe... im not holding my breath. Defiantly looking at tcoyf asap! I've heard a few ladies mention it lately. Thank for your encouragement & support!

I agree with @Shutterbug. For me, CM dries up the day after ovulation. I use this as my method of birth control and according to the rules of TCOYF, the 4th day after your most wet CM plus 3rd high temp after the temp shift is "safe" to DTD and not conceive.

From your temps alone, I would predict that you may have O'd on CD 12 or 13. If your CM dried up on CD 13, you probably O'd on CD 12. Since sperm can live up to 3 days, you could still conceive if you DTD today.

ETA: sorry, I got it mixed up in my head. Since sperm can live up to 3 days, you could still conceive if you DTD 3 days ago. In addition, since the egg can live up to 24h after bein released, you could still conceive if you DTD today.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I wouldn't say you're out yet! I know your temp is up, but if you have EWCM today you might not have really O'ed yet. Usually CM dries up pretty quickly after O.

I'm hoping they can help get his pain under control so he is able to do what he needs to do to get the job done. I'm thinking april to look into other alternitives

Wow, so early! I took a look at other charts on FF for early ovulation dates, and you are not alone. I'm sorry this cycle is a loss for you. I know that is very disappointing. The good news is that with OPKs and charting, you will hopefully get to know the patterns of your cycle much better to help you predict when to time intercourse.

Given your situation, have you all considered other options for conceiving, like IUI?

Update: I bought some opk and started using them wednesday. No line on wed, no line thursday am but thursday pm there was a faint line & same this morning. I feel o pains in my left side that I haven't felt for a while and my temp has start to rise above my baseline. But barly. I didn't get to chart my temp yesterday cause. I layed back down with out looking at my new digital memory storing thermometer & it didn't store my temp. But this morning it was above by .2 so if I add all my s&s up includinh the clear cm I'd say we still have a chance!

@Sugar.Biscuit: The 5 min difference is fine, don't worry about it. I also don't think there's enough data yet. Yesterday's dip could just be a fluke and if you ignore that datapoint, you actually have a nice flat chart so far. I think O is still to come. On the other hand, if you temps starts getting even higher, then maybe you did O. Wait and see (and I know that's hard).

@littlebittyhouse: I'm not 100% on taking my temp at the same time. Usually with in a 5 min difference, weekends I suck at it. I'm also a light sleeper and I've been sick twice in the last two months so I'm know that plays a major role in my data. Thanks for the link I will be looking at it later. This is all so new and confusing to me and my pervious GP was no help at all!

My first question would be are you being REALLY diligent about taking your temp every day at the same time, with the same thermometer, in the same spot in your mouth? Once you have a few months of really accurate charting then you can see the patterns developing. Here is a good link to where/how to take your temp: http://www.faichneymedical.com/tips.html

That makes sense. Adding in temps can be frustrating, at least it's a frustrating part of charting for me at times. Good luck with the appointment! Maybe blood work will help clear things up.

@Sugar.Biscuit: That is very true! I'm sort of like you but my methods are flipped. I wanted to do temping from the beginning to see if I was ovulating, once I had confirmed (as much as you can without blood test of ultrasounds) that I was, I switched to Creighton. I think getting the blood test done would be really beneficial for you. Are your periods pretty consistant?

@Mrs.VW: @LittleFox: I've used NFP for almost a year now & just started temping as well (thats why my charts are messy). My dr told me that just because I have mucus that doesn't mean I have ovulated. I just switched dr.s and have yet to be seen by him. I may take a personal day and get that first appointment out of the way today.

Although you have a sooooorrrt of pattern in your January chart, it would be easier to say if there weren't so many temps missing - charting works best when you do it consistently. I agree with @Mrs. Someone that it would be a good idea to have your hormones checked out because there are things other than PCOS that can cause your temps to be erratic and especially so low.

Creighton is a great suggestion, too! There are doctors who specifically work with that method to aid in diagnosing and working with fertility issues. You would have to take a class on Creighton method of NFP, but they go really in depth about mucous and Napro doctors can use the charts to get valuable information.

@NerdBee: I agree about February - not enough data yet.

As far as it looking like PCOS, it's impossible to really tell from these charts, especially not having data recorded every day. If you're worried about the temps, try taking them every day at the exact same time to see if a consistent pattern emerges (but also keep up on the daily CM checks). Also keep in mind that things other than PCOS can cause strange temperature patterns and inconsistent rises. Have you looked in the TCOYF book? I would try charting following those rules. I found the instruction to be better than Fertility Friend of while I charted, and was better able to confirm ovulation than with FF.

Having looked at mannnny charts on FF (it's strangely addicting), I can say that there really isn't such a thing as a "normal" chart. I don't know enough about PCOS to say whether your charts indicate you have this; are there other symptoms you have that make you think you might have PCOS?

You had drops and spikes in your last chart as well. It could be possible you have ovulated this cycle, but day 9 would be pretty early.

Unless OPKs were a big hassle for some reason, I would reconsider using them again. They are a great help in figuring out the whole "did I ovulate?" puzzle. I use the cheapos from Amazon and sometimes a digital just to confirm (plus, I like seeing that smiley face).

I would agree with Nerdbee. Although it might look like you O'd already, I think it's still yet to come. CD 9 would be really early to O too. I temped for over a year and so I know how much you look forward to that spike :) I would say just keep BDing and try to be really consistant with your temping. I also did the Creighton Method after stopping temping. That was really helpful too! I can now tell when I've O'd just from my CM. It's handy to not have to worry about the accuracy of my temps anymore :) Good luck!!

Unfortunately, I think both of these charts are inconclusive. The first one is very erratic, and you're missing about a week of temps around the time where it looks like you O'd. On the second chart, I think its unlikely you've O'd yet, but the next few days will tell. I have no idea what a PCOS chart looks like, but your temps are pretty erratic, so it might be worth having your hormone levels checked out (particularly thyroid). And I definitely second trying OPKs, start today if you can! Good luck. This is confusing for everyone when starting out :)

According to TCOYF, after your period ends, as you are charting your temperatures, always notice the highest of the previous 6 days. For there to be a thermal shift that indicates ovulation, the temperature shift must be at two-tenths of a degree above that highest temperature.

Looking at your charts, in January you probably O'd on CD20 since your temp was at least 2/10 higher than the previous temps and your CM dried up. There is not enough data yet in your Feb chart to determine if you've O'd yet.

If your temp is still up tomorrow and Friday, then for sure you had the big O yesterday. This is why I did the OPK's and charted at the same time, so you would know for sure. Hope you timed some good BD'ing!

Not sure how to read my charts or share them properly so I took screen shots to share.

I did not take good temps last month but I am posting both to help you charting divas compare. So are my temps normalish or are they typical of someone with psoc? I have no idea what a nornal chart looks like but with the drop yesterday and tthe spike today doesn't that indicate O? Last month I had opk to help me bit this time around I'm doing it based on temp & cm.
