My husband abd I are both getting better at this finally. We give in or get annoyed to easily so we really need to continue to learn how to ignore and not appease or freak out.

Not at all. She's only 9 months and I'm still very much uncomfortable with letting her cry.

I can only tune them out when DH isn't around. I feed off him, so if I feel like he's getting irritated with all the whining, then I tend to.

Of course. I don't tend to every scream, cry or whine!

I'm actually pretty good at tuning my toddler out when I'm trying to concentrate on something, or she keeps asking for something that I tell her she can not have. This usually happens most in the car, when we are confined together and there is nothing else I can do but tune her out ;) DH is terrible at this and says he has no clue how I can ignore her when she is demanding something/complaining/whining. I tell him it's my only option to stay calm in that moment!

Can you tune out your LO? Do you ever do it on accident?
