@californiadreams: It was good enough for my LO, but i'm sure all babies are different. Mine had a good appetite for solids so she usually made up for it that way. I try to give her a good amount of yogurt and cheese to make up for it as well. Plus, she loves broccoli which is a good source of calcium.

@Freckles: so milk morning and night is good enough? hmmm i assumed they would still need milk during the day, but i don't know why i assumed that!

@tinyperson: good luck. i bet that's what i end up doing too, but i think i will give pumping a try at least in the beginning. I wanted to wait until at least 18 months before introducing cow's milk so i think if i can pump for 6 months i will be happy. who knows! i guess i will see what happens too.

I am still nursing S at 16 months, (1-2 times per day) but I didn't have any desire to pump when I went back to work (nor does S take EBM at all, he only wants breast milk directly from the boob). My supply for nursing a couple times per day is totally fine. I don't think Canada has any laws protecting/assuring your right to pump at work, so you would have to work out arrangement with your job if they were willing.

LO is 17 months old and I still bf mornings/evening. I didn't bother pumping because i wasn't producing that much milk, and there would be a lower output with pumping. She was fine as she ate a lot, even though she had no desire to drink cow's milk or any other kind of milk.

@californiadreams: I'm hoping to breastfeed for 2 years as well, by likely just morning and night, I guess. We'll see what happens!

@yellowbird: the only reason i called out "canadian" bees is because we get a year off and i wonder if supply is different when you don't pump regularly the first year. Like you said, you don't get as much when you pump, so i am wondering when does supply start decreasing as a result of pumping. i am hoping to pump for longer since i will only be starting to pump regularly at one year.

@Rubies: @tinyperson: thanks for responding! i am so determined lately to successfully breastfeed for 2 years. i don't even know why or when that became my goal since my initial goal was one year and i am 2 months away. I am not ready to stop i guess...neither is LO.

I'm not planning on pumping when I go back when LO is 13 months...I barely get anything when I pump, so I don't think it'll be worth the hassle. I did think about it earlier on though and wondered the same things you did!

Im not canadian, but I will say I pumped from 2months til 11 months. By 11 months pp I was getting 2-4 oz a day total from 2 pumping sessions which just wasnt worth the effort for me. Have you pumped to see what your output would be??

Ooh, I'm curious too.

I don't really have the option to pump at work and imagine I'll have to cut down her nursing to the times I'm home with her. :(

I see alot of posts about pumping at work and i always look for stories of people who pumped well past one year, but it doesn't seem common.

Has anyone had success with starting to pump at work when your LO is one year old and you have been BF for the first year?

How many pumping sessions did you do? How long did you go for?

Did you (and when) did you stop pumping and keep BF morning and night?
