Before eating any, we had to go through each and every one and check that they were wrapped properly. And the horror stories people would tell each about what could happen was enough to make us kids follow the safety checking rule! I totally forgot about it until i realized LO was eating his first treat tonight and it wasn't "checked". But now i think it must have been a little dramatized back then when i was a kid. Now that i've remembered, i will probably at least glance at his candies before letting him eat them.....and maybe start teaching next year. Like, we used to bring dim flashlights along, and now kids are blinding the streets with football stadium lights strapped to their foreheads.
