I was raised in a Nikon family, heh. My grandfather was an electronics dealer and had a camera shop from the 1930s onward, and Nikons were his favorite. Passed that to my dad, who passed it to me. We have a Canon Rebel t4i and it's amazing but the same can be said for the Nikons of the same caliber. It was dropped and the LCD screen cracked and bled. I shoot "blind" because I can't see my ISO or flash settings. I have to take at least 10 practice shots to be sure my settings are correct. Sometimes it comes down to the lenses, which are cheaper with Canon. I have a Nikon and absolutely love it. DH has 3 Nikon film SLRs, which he also loves. He doesn't like sitting at a computer editing photos so he chose Nikon (for other reasons too I'm sure). Most of his friends who are professional photographers shoot Nikon as well.
