My LO wouldn't keep it in her mouth either, she just didn't like it. She ended up being a thumb sucker instead.

I use Dr.Brown's ortho paci and DD can keep them in her mouth a tad bit longer than all of the others I've tried.

I got a Wubbanub paci at my shower.... My LO rejected paci's though so we don't use it, but I know several moms who love it because their babies take to it right away. It really helps to keep the paci in. Also makes it easier for them to insert it themselves and to hold their own bottles later!

consider trying the MAM pacifiers and try the larger size (like the 6+ months size) as they are a longer and may be easier for your baby to keep in.

Yes, we have that problem too. Originally we were using the soothies pacifiers, but I found that those fall out of the baby's mouth really easily. Now we're using Tommy Teepee, and those stay in for longer... but she still spits them out pretty frequently. I've tried the Happiest Baby on the Block routine, but I haven't been very consistent with it, so I haven't seen any real results.

DS wouldn't take a paci until 8 weeks. We tried different brands and he likes the MAM brand the best. We also used the 'pulling' technique and I've read to try tapping on it when it's in LO's mouth.

We have the Avent pacis and she always drops it. I have two copies of the Happiest Baby on the Block on my bookshelf...guess I should read one of them!

yeah Cobi is 14 weeks and still can't hold them in his mouth! We switched brands, and he can definitely keep these in better/a little longer, but still not all the way. I think he could totally fall asleep on his own if he could keep it in himself. As it is, we have to hold in his pacifier for him to keep it in.

I highly recommend the Happiest Baby technique, which says you have to train your baby to keep the binky in. You place it in the mouth and then try to pull it out and the baby will try hard to keep it in. This does not work so well in kids that don't like the binky, but it's worked great for our second daughter.

Yup, Wagon Jr. had trouble keeping it in. Try different brands. The soothies that the hospital gave us were too big for his mouth. We went with Avent and he loved them til he dropped them on his own-- once he figured out how to suck on his own fingers!

Yes, we haven't had much success with pacifiers. I know there is a section in Happiest Baby On The Block about training your baby to keep a pacifier in.

My baby is 6 weeks old. She doesnt really like pacifiers, she usually refuses it. But when she is very sleepy I try to put it in her mouth to calm her down and when she finally lets me put it in her mouth she will suck on it but then it falls out soon and then she cries for it so I have to keep putting it back in her mouth. Has anyone had this issue with a baby not being able to keep the pacifier in their mouth
