But he was born at 99th percentile in head circumference so all hats fit just fine (or were too small!!). But they are a range of sizes so you could try some other brands. </p> <p>He has never, ever minded hats and constantly wears them now. I think maybe because we got him used to them when he was a baby!</p> <p>LMW was a July baby so she never had a hat on her head. But the only one that didn't slide off what a funny cotton one I found at a second hand shop.</p> <p>I'm not sure why the hospital never told us about the cap being a SIDS risk. I guess the concern is that the baby can get too warm. She slept in a little hat during the first two nights at the hospital, but was in headbands all day for visitors. She's worn a hat maybe twice since she's been home, but that was for cuteness not warmth. Of course now we're home and the grandmas are all about the cap too. But K lost a little over 10% of her birth weight and even the smallest hospital caps keep sliding down over her eyes! I don't want to let her sleep in her caps anymore. Did you let your NB sleep in their caps? I need ammo against the grandmas now. Getting so nervous but K has is all pulled back so like 1/3 of her head is exposed. </p>
