We have an Alex lap desk that my 5 year old likes to use on long car rides. It has pockets on the side that zip where I can keep markers or crayons for her.
ALEX Art Desk To Go https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GCNDOM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nOKpCbM7XD0JV

No help on the back of the seat organizers. My 5 year old is still harnessed so I don’t think she could reach that. I keep a basket between their car seats with toys and books that she can reach, but that doesn’t work with captains chairs if you have them.

Does anyone have a recommendation of some sort of travel tray or lap desk for young elementary school age kids (age 4.5 and 6.5)? I'm looking for something to help them spread out a bit and do drawing, workbooks, beads, etc. in the car.

Now that we have a minivan, it's harder for the adult passenger to hand things back to them (one of the girls sits in the third row). So I'm also curious if you've found that back-of-the seat organizers are helpful for kids reaching their own toys/snacks/activities.

Thanks!
