Sorry my LO never sleeps longer than 45 in the car but usually 1.5-2 in his crib!

LO naps best at home in her bed, but she also takes good car naps- just not as long. We try to time when we are leaving with her nap time. A few weekends ago we left around 12:30, she fell asleep right away but woke after an hour. I gave her some more milk and then she went back to sleep for another hour.

R doesn't nap as long in the car :( She seems to wake up after 45 mins. I am hoping when we leave for vacation that she will nap for 2 hours (will take us 5 with her) since we will be on the highway and hopefully moving the whole time.

Nope...LO often naps 2+ hours now in his crib, but in the car if we get 1.5 hours I'm happy!

LO always naps the longest in the car while it's in motion.

DS has always been a decent car napper if timing is right. We recently did a two hour drive right at nap time and he woke up when we stopped just over an hour in (right around his sleep cycle ending).... but fell asleep for another 30 min... we made do with it and did an early bedtime that day.

it depends on the baby, i'm guessing--it is rare for my LO to nap for more than 45 minutes in the car.

LO has always been a decent car napper, but she got really good once she moved to one nap. We could always plan traveling around that nap. Plus, for some reason, she was suddenly able to stay asleep during the car to crib transfer.

When LO was on 2 naps she could take them in the ergo, pushchair or car if we were out & about. Although she'd sometimes sleep longer in the car, mostly she'd just nap for half an hour and because of her awake time she could manage on 2x 30 minute naps during the day just fine.

LO is now on 1 nap and typically takes it from 12-2/3pm. Next week we need to travel approx 4 hours away and I am hoping we can go during nap time, like we usually do. Please tell me that when LO's drop to 1 nap they magically sleep longer for it in the car! ;) I'm not sure she could get through the rest of the afternoon on 1 30 minute car nap!
