Another great resource is The Car Seat Lady: http://www.thecarseatlady.com/

Lots of great info on the website, and I understand they answer questions too.

@Foodnerd81: it should say in the manual if you can use a towel/noodle(s) to get the correct incline... I've had to for a rf complete air, totally safe!

As for the locking clip.... I feel your pain! You have to tighten the belt (don't lock it though) & then hold the belt at the needed tightness, un buckle the belt still holding it, put the lock clip on, then shimmy the car seat (first away from the buckle then towards) to get it re buckled. They make it look super easy on the videos but tbh it's kind of a pain. It totally works though is 100% safe!

And fwiw it's that car seat group, I've learned so much!!! Lol

@runsyellowlites: Our specific issue was trying to the get locking clip onto the seat belt- if the seatbelt was tight enough, then we couldn't get the clip on. I just watched a youtube video that should help though. That and the angle-- I guess we need to put a rolled up towel to get it to the 45 degrees, but that just seems a little unsafe. (BTW I was totally hoping you would see this, since i feel like you are the car seat safety expert :) )

What exactly is the install problem you're having? Actually getting it in properly or just how to drive with the handle?

I joined the "Car Seats for The Littles" group on FB and have gotten great help from them! There are tons of techs that are part of the group & are well versed in pretty much every seat & ever car!

We installed our car seat but it just doesn't seem like it's quite right. Our car doesn't have the LATCH system, so we followed the directions but some just aren't that clear (like using the locking thing on the seatbelt portion). Any good resources for extra safety info? We have a Graco Snugride. I'm also not that clear on the safest place for the handle, though with it being straight upright, it seems like it would block my vision.

DH was actually trained on proper installation, but, like 10 years ago when he worked at a rental car agency. Because of this, he keeps making logical assumptions which aren't always correct but he doesn't read the directions that closely. It's driving me crazy. However, he did put all his weight into the base to get it secure so there's that.
