I have the slimfit as well. I purchased it to replace my expired maxi-cosi pria (which I hated!). My hope is that I can fit a third kid across my RDX if I should be so lucky as to have a third or if I need to carpool, etc. It doesn’t seem drastically slimmer than the maxi-cosi and I miss the cooling fabric of the maxi-cosi now that it is hot out but it is so easy to tighten the graco slim fit (I’m a grown woman and can’t tighten the maxi cosi for the life of me!).

We've been using the Slimfit for 1.5 years (and the seat it's based on--the Milestone--for 3.5 years). We have several brands, and these are my favorites. It has the best harness adjustment and is very sturdy and comfortable. I wish it had seat belt lock-offs; if it did, it'd be my perfect seat.

@catgirl @mrsrv I think I’ll try the Slim Fit, especially since it’s less than the Chicco. We really hate the Maxi Cosi so would likely end up having to get a new car seat for my husbands car if we have a third. Thanks for the tips!

@Becky: The slim is equally narrow as the tranzitions on the bottom but does flair out a little wider at the top. Would not be an issue in a three across set up while it is rear facing but could be an issue when forward facing (just something to consider).

@Becky: It wasn't horrible, but not overly easy. I feel like seats are always harder to install RF, though. It is a really comfy looking seat and has a lot of neat features that I didn't realize until I bought it.

@Becky: I just installed a Slim Fit an hour ago RF. I will be installing the Tranzitions sometime this weekend. The Slim Fit is a half inch wider than Tranzitions. I have a 13 Outback which should be really similar to your babysitter's car.

So I just realized it might make more sense to get a convertible car seat if we plan to have a 3rd. Anyone have the Graco Slim Fit? The price is right and I think it would be narrow enough. This way I can also have her RF in the babysitters car. It’s actually less than the MyFit.

Target has the Graco Tranzitions on sale today. I haven't tried it out yet, but it's on my maybe list for our 2nd car.

@Becky: we have 2 Chico MyFits and really like them! They’re narrow and relatively easy to install! Albee Baby frequently has them on sale 20% off with their monthly codes (MAY20, JUN20, whatever) and sometimes I’ve found even if it’s not advertised as “on sale”, typing in that code will take 20% off 🤷🏻‍♀️Just FYI :)

@catgirl: I might go with the Chicco MyFit and eat the cost in favor of more universal fit. My husband and MIL both have Subaru’s and my mom has a Rouge all of which have posed some installation difficulties so I’m thinking the Chicco is better just in case it ends up in one of those cars. Thanks for that advice!

I have the Graco Nautilus as the main one, and recently bought a Graco Tranzitions as a 2nd! There was a period of time we were taking out the Nautilus all the time and no issues. Haven't installed the Tranzitions yet, but as a 2nd seat it seems great and it was at a great price point.

If the pioneer they have is already too big then the frontier would be too, since it is slightly wider at the top.

The graco tranzitions/wayz is a great seat but can be a pain to install in some cars due to a high belt path. But it is narrow.

I would also look at the chicco MyFit and the harmony defender. I think the chicco has the easiest install but it is more expensive.

We're in the market for a harnessed booster that will initially go in a babysitter's car this summer (Subaru Legacy 2013) and then in my husband's car (Subaru Impreza 2013; replacing the reviled Maxi Cosi Pria). My priorities are that it is easy to install (babysitter will likely be taking it out fairly frequently), narrow (will likely end up in my CRV 2013 3-across if we have a 3rd because our Britax Pioneer is likely too wide), and doesn't break the bank. I have my eyes set on the Graco Tranzitions but want to make sure I'm not missing a good seat.

We also have a:
Diono Radian R100 (currently RF in CRV)
Britax Pioneer (FF in CRV)
Maxi Cosi Pria (FF in Impreza--blech)
Graco Nautilus (or something similar, FF in Impreza)
