I do know someone who made a claim for their carseat to be covered after totaling their car with LO in it &amp; it was denied because they were at fault for the accident. Not sure about the insurance coverage. We have a very basic one and it covered it! I think most cover it? I'd love to know for future reference though! Maybe try calling yours and see? But if we want to purchase a seat that's more expensive than that, we would have to submit a purchase receipt and they would reimburse us the difference. There are a lot of companies that rely on you not knowing that. </p> <p>I found out about it before I got into the insurance industry by getting into an accident, the auto body shop that totaled my vehicle told me. We had 2 car seats in the car at the time. A few days ago, we got a check in the mail for $215. The letter enclosed said that we should dispose of the 2 car seats and purchase 2 new ones! We had to buy a new one anyway for baby #2 so it was perfect! I never knew insurance companies provided this!</p> <p>Just wanted to share in case you ever get in a car accident (minor or major). Be sure to ask your insurance company for a car seat reimbursement! </p>
