It transitions from harness to seatbelt but not to backless. We have used britax since he was a newborn and I like the clicktight feature and seatbelt install for the harness option. I also liked the high limits for the harness option. When I was looking to move on from our Britax boulevard I found out that they had just as high of a harness height as all the FF harness seats on the market so moving to a FF harness didn’t gain us anything.
