My parents have it and use it for dental and pet stuff. They love it. They also used it for my wisdom teeth which helped spread out that payment.

I've used it for dental work in the past. This has been a few years, but each purchase qualified as a separate "90 days with no interest" charge. So I just had to pay each off in the allotted time and I never paid any interest.

@lilteacherbee: glad it worked out for you! We might need the longer term, with interest plan as well. Just weighing my options now, I hate taking on new debt but we have to take care of our health!

@yellowbird: I doubt we would qualify, income will be too high.

Our dentist only has two options - pay up front in full, or sign up for care credit. DH and I both have work to be done that needs to be completed in/over the next few months and there's no way to come up with the cash needed in that timeframe.

@cmomma17: have you ever thought of trying a community health clinic? It can be more affordable than a private practice office especially if your income and family size would qualify for a sliding fee scale.

I used it a few years ago for my LASIK surgery. It worked well for me. I was just out of college, so I opted for the 48 month plan which of course had some interest. It's almost all paid off now!

@rahlyrah: we are on the phone with them right now to try to find out. It was unclear from their brochure. The person on the phone is not very helpful, I don't think she understands our question :( Ugh.

@cmomma17: I thought the no interest would apply to all charges, the 6 months would just begin at the time of each charge?

I could be wrong though!

@rahlyrah: oh my goodness! Glad your dog is okay, what a vet bill though!

We both need dental work and this seems to be the only option to get it done in the near future. They have 6 and 12 month options, but we would need to charge more than once, so I don't think the "no interest" would apply to anything but the first charge? Not sure if that makes sense to anyone! :)

Yep. Our dogs ate a bag of raisins a few weeks before our wedding, resulting in a $3000 vet bill. It was no interest for 6 months (I believe) which was nice.

Does anyone have experience with a Care Credit credit card?
In our case it would be for dental work.
