I second the pads, colace, night gowns and granny panties. I'd also toss in some snacks.

Yeah, the need for huge pads and colace isn't any different with a c-section. I also like the nightgown suggestion - so many of my clothes irritated my incision! And this might be a weird thing to buy for someone else, bu I loved high-waist panties (yeah, like granny panties lol) after my c-section because all of my normal underwear pressed right on the incision.

Honestly, there wasn't much else I wanted or needed. I know some moms buy stuff to put on the incision/scar as it heals but I was terrified of mine and didn't want to touch or look at it! Food was great and always much appreciated, as was having someone come over when DH was at work so I could just have some company or someone to hold the baby while I showered or whatever. She won't be able to drive right away due to the painkillers, and being stuck in the house drove me nuts!

@beaker: Slippers without bending over is a great idea!

I would suggest a bath robe/nightgown (something she can wear that won't irritate the scar), pads, Colace, maybe some nipple cream if she is breastfeeding.

@beaker: Nice! Thank you! I had heard you still need pads, but wasn't totally sure...

You still need big pads! And colace! I think slippers you can slide your feet into (without reaching down) would be good too.

My SIL just had her baby over the weekend via c-section. I had a great care package worked out for a vaginal delivery (complete with dermoplast, tucks, big pads, and colace) but am now at a loss!

For those who've had c-sections, what things did you need/love/want post-partum?
