If she has a DVD player in her room, I know my friend who was on bedrest enjoyed watching entire seasons of shows she has always wanted to see but never did (Mad Men, Dexter, ect.) that have several seasons to help keep her occupied.

A baby book, to start completing the stuff about the family, pregnancy, shower, etc.

Word searches, crosswords, or soduko if she's into that. What about a pregnancy type book like Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy or Exploiting my Baby by Teresa Strausser... both are fun! I also like the idea of cross-stitch or crochet. If she doesn't do that, maybe you could get her an intro/beginners book & some yarn or thread? You're such a sweet friend!!!

I did a lot of cross stitching when I was pregnant and unable to move a lot. It's an easy craft... and you can do something for the baby! I started with bibs because they're smaller, then did a baby blanket which took a very long time.

What a good friend, I'm sure she'd appreciate anything!

if she's crafty, you could find a craft project for her to complete for her due date. I did a couple of needlepoint projects and I LOVED them. I wasn't on bedrest though... just lazy. :)

I was going to suggest trashy magazines too! My favorites are In Touch and People (not so trashy but always entertaining).

You're such a sweet friend! :)
Everything @katm558 wrote! I'd add some romance novels. I <3 Nora Roberts.
Does your friend knit? Crochet?

I was on bed rest with both of my pregnancies, and was totally bored! The best thing that I had were extremely engrossing books, such as The Millenuim Trilogy or The Hunger Games. Those were a lifesaver because it really took my mind off of things and made time go by so quickly.

Other great options: a Netflix gift subscription, trashy gossip magazines, the hottest nail polish colors and a manicure kit, a baby keepsake book that she can start putting together, delicious pregnancy-safe treats, comfy cozy socks, yoga pants, a Pinterest invite (that site saved my sanity!).

Just think, she wants to be comfortable and have her mind taken off of what she is going thru. The best thing for me was to have people come and hang out, I was terribly lonely and felt even more isolated because people were afraid they were bugging me. BTW, you are such a caring friend to be doing this!

I have a friend who was just put on mondified bedrest at 32 weeks due to high blood pressure. She is afraid she will go out of her mind at home all the time. I'd like to put together a care package for her to keep her occupied for the next few weeks. What would you want in a care package if you were on bedrest?
