I did, but it was 10 years ago. It worked out fine but I got in a very, very minor fender bender a couple of years later (I basically drifted into the car in front of me so I rear ended them at maybe 5 mph or less) and all my engine blocks were cracked. I don't know much about cars, but that seemed suspicious to me. I would take the car to an independent mechanic before buying it, just like any other used car situation.

My husband sold his car to Carmax and about a year later we bought a truck there. We had a good experience. They brought the truck my husband was considering to the closest location to us for free so he could test drive it. The people we dealt with were really nice too.

I only know of one couple personally who bought a vehicle from carmax and they had an awful experience. I'm not sure of the details though so I'm not much help. All I know is they hated it and said they would never do it again and never recommend it to anyone.

We're thinking of buying a car off carmax. Anyone done this before? How did it turn out?
