Husband is leaning toward carpet, and I'm leaning toward tile, so we're still trying to decide. I appreciate the responses!

We have carpet in a similar setup, and I wouldn't want tile instead.

I would do tile and also hope that I could do heated floors because tile is so cold.

I think I would prefer carpet, BUT I don't really know much about the faux wood tile. Our bathroom is "normal" tile and so so cold on my feet in the winter! So I would rather it be warm.

If it's not a big bother to change it, tile is better! I used to love carpet but it becomes so nasty after it's collected dust for a few years. A rug can always be taken out to clean or replace.

Ive seen it done both ways. I think if I had a choice I would stick with the tile. You could always do a small rug in the middle of the closet if you want a bit of warmth.

Especially since you are doing faux wood tile, I would do tile in the closet as well.

Our set up is similar to how you describe- bedroom then bathroom then closet. We have a carpeted closet too. Our old house was similar- closet matched the bedroom flooring with bathroom in between, but we had hardwood in that house.

Do you have some rug runners in mind for the closet? Tile is colder than hardwood, but way better than wall to wall carpet especially right after stepping out of a shower.

To get to my master closet, you have to walk through the master bathroom. We are currently remodeling our house, and right now the bathroom is tile and the closet is the same carpeting as what is in the bedroom. I'm trying to decide if I should keep it carpeted or do tile to match the floors in the bathroom (we are replacing both tile and carpet in our upstairs).

I like the idea of it being carpet, because it's warmer on your feet and it looks more inviting. However, I also like the idea of the tile, so it blends in with the bathroom, since the closet is located in the bathroom area. Also, I think the tile would be easier to clean and wouldn't trap dust like carpet does. We are planning to do a faux wood looking tile if that matters. Any opinions?
