I did a carpool pickup (without the car) of some friends' kids for a few days each week. It was stressful because they'd sometimes change the schedule at the last minute. It was just a temporary thing (summer camp), otherwise I would've said something.

What I learned is that a consistent schedule makes carpooling a lot easier!

We don't have a set schedule but my friends and I regularly take turns picking up each others kids if the other one has to work late, or wants a date night, etc. My friends LOs have never given me trouble and they are usually excited to get to go home to my house! Same with my LO when she goes home with a friend.

I think kids are much better behaved when parents aren't around (usually)..

I would start going to through the drop off routine with your daughter. We stop at the end of the sidewalk and wait for the grown up, you wait here while the grown up checks you in, we walk with our walking feet down the hall, etc.

Does anyone carpool to daycare/school? What kind of arrangement do you have, and have there been any issues?

DD started preK yesterday and our next door neighbour's kid goes to the same program so we have been talking about carpooling - most likely they would take the kids in the morning and i could do the pickup in the afternoon. It's only a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the school.

My only concern is my daughter giving the neighbour some trouble (she knows and likes them a lot) during dropoff.

I'd love to hear your experiences - good/bad!
