I'm 5'2 and I love my beco gemini and used it from when my daughter was 2 months old to almost a year. For the summer I also got the onya baby outback, which is nylon so it's more breathable and is good for traveling b/c you can make a little seat out of it. They both allow you to front carry, side carry, and back carry. Personally I think the onya is a little better b/c it has more bells and whistles (the seat I mentioned, pockets, a hood, easier to adjust, etc) and seems a little more supportive of my back.

Both carriers will last you well into toddlerhood and are great for petite frames. To save some money you make want to look for a B/S/T babywearing group on facebook. Even better, there are often meetups where you can try one on to make sure you like it! Good luck :-)

I am 5'1" also and I have a Beco Gemini.. I love it! I used a sling for the first month or so because he was definitely to small for it as a newborn but I use the Beco almost everyday both inward and forward facing.

I'm 5'0 and I had no problem with the Ergo. I regularly used it from 4 months until 18 months. At that point, she just wanted to walk.

I preferred the Ktan initially (0-4 months) when my LO didn't have great neck control, even though I had the infant insert for the Ergo. I ended up not using it much.

We also had a Baby Bjorn that was gifted to us and my husband used it on occasion, but I was concerned about the effects on her hips so we really only used it sparingly.

i'm 5'2" and have used the original ergo and the tula toddler. i have to tighten the straps all the way (which leaves a lot of straps hanging or i need to roll/tuck them), but i haven't found the fit to be a problem!

I just wanted to pop in and say that I totally read the title as "Career Advice Needed for Petite Person" and was so curious as to what your question was! duh. :silly:

Anyway, I'm 5'2" also and could never get comfortable with the ergo, so I'm following along.....

I’m not quite as petite as you at 5’3”, but still kinda short and the following carriers have worked for LO and I very well:

Pouch sling

Ring sling (worked with baby stage into toddler stage)
Tula (I have the toddler one and it is SO COMFORTABLE)

I’m not into wraps so can’t give any recommendations there.

Had I known then what I know now, I probably would have started with the Tula. But I also do love our ring sling and it served us well!

Infantino Mei Tais are great! I keep meaning to purchase some for our babywearing group's lending library. Do you have a local babywearing group? We offer try on sessions for mamas fairly often so they can try before they buy, and we have demo dolls of different weights so you can get a real feel.

If you don't have a local group, I will ask on my group's board what our petite members like :)

I'm a little taller at 5'4" and the Ergo original has been great for me. I also love the K'Tan for the newborn stage as it's simple to out on and both of my babies have loved being snuggled in it.

I will try to be very specific!

I'm a first time mom, very petite (5'1). I say this b/c apparently the Ergo Original that I wanted, it seems like some petite moms are saying it's really long and doesn't sit right on them.

I already have a hand me down Baby Bjorn Original that can face inward & outward. But I was thinking that can be more or less DH's carrier exclusively so we don't have to re-size the carrier between uses.

I was set on either the Ergo original or Ergo 360 (really like the forward facing option). But they are both pricey and I'm afraid since I don't really know what I want or what works that I'll waste the money.

Recently started looking into the Infantino Mei Tai. Love the price tag, and like that it's not like a Ktan or Moby, it's more structured and seems easy enough to put on?

I do want something that can go from infant to toddler, and it's easy to put on.

I've tried to look at different options in stores and try it on but without an actual baby I really didn't find it helpful...

I know in the end it's different from everyone but I appreciate your input as I am pulling my hair out trying to decide!
