I agree with trying them on - 2 more suggestions: (1) Amazon offers free 365-day returns on a lot of baby gear - we took advantage of this to try a few carriers, test them out (with handweights inside!), and send back what we didn't like; (2) check kids resale shops - I was able to scout the ease and fit of a lot of different carriers, some that I hadn't even considered prior - and you might be able to find a good deal to boot!

Check the Beco website for retailers around you. I've found that the Beco is usually not carried in big box stores like BRU or BBB, but rather smaller stores. Any smaller store would probably let you test it as well.

@Mrsbells: Good idea about trying them on, why didn't I think of that? ;) It doesn't look like they carry the Beco at Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby, though... :(

Most carriers are very adjustable. You can go try most of them on at babies r us. I am much slimmer than my husband but we are both able to use our ergo sport and our baby bjorn carriers

Of course I already built my (private) Amazon registry, and I have a Beco Gemini carrier on there based on the recommendations of several folks. My husband is heavier than me, though -- maybe 200 pounds, but 5'3" -- so is that a good carrier for him to use as well? Can it be adjusted?

We're actually both short folks, so I would want to take that into account, too.
