Safety first from Costco! It's the one my mom has for DD and DS. I think it was $80.

I don't think the Graco is difficult to install, but then again, we've installed it once and haven't moved it.

I find installing "on the fly" to be really stressful. I need time and patience, not standing in an airport pick up lane, if you know what I mean.

@luckypenny: I think my Britax installs much easier but the Graco isn't bad. For example, my britax has two seperate latch straps on either side. The Graco has one strap that connects both sides. So the Graco has to be REALLY tight in order for it not to slip back and forth. Since the Britax straps are shorter and not connected, I feel its easier to get them tighter. It really does depend on the car though.

@runsyellowlites: I only ought one seat since the trip was so last minute. Normally on long flights we do but her her own because she sleeps better in the carseat than our arms.

@T.H.O.U.: @looch: Is the Graco easy to install? Ill have my mom check target

The techs in my car seat group always ask the stats of the child (range of %) & what type of car it'll go in since not all seats fit in all cars. I do know the MyRide is a good seat, the Safety 1st complete air is good, & alot of the techs recommend the Cosco Scenera too.

Have you just considered taking your seat though so that the munchkin can be strapped in & safe on the plane (I assume you're flying)? Not sure what seat you have, but I know alot are aircraft certified!

We also have a Graco MyRide and we like it a lot. It's one of the seats we use in my father's minivan. I looked up the measurements and it is the exact same width, height and depth as our Britax Boulevard.

eta: we also have a Cosco Scenera, and that seat is our airplane seat. We use it front facing only, because it's really difficult to get a good rear facing install.

Target had a Graco MyRide on sale for about $105 the other day. We have one and its a really nice seat as a back up.

I'm traveling by myself to my moms on the east coast next week and she offered to buy a convertible carseat for DD. We will only be here mayyyybe 2 times a year but we plan on having more children so it would be nice to only have to travel with one in the future. Can anyone recommend and good cheap carseat?
