I have this one and love it and is quick to adjust the shoulder height.

We have a Evenflo Symphony something or other in DHs car.
The no rethread harness is key.

Both of my big girls are still rear facing so we leave it installed. I think it's easy to install but haven't done it in ages.

The Graco mysize/size4me/headwise (all the same seat, but available at different stores). No rethread harness, super easy to install, one of the highest rf height limits on the market, can find them for less than $150 pretty easily.

We have the Evenflo tribute as our spare / travel / backup car seat. I think it was around $50 on Amazon - affordable, easy to install, good reviews, safe. We bought it when she was 2 (and she was very petite) and RF, now she's 4 and still fits in it fine the few times she uses it. It's not as comfy as our everyday seat (Britax adv) but she doesn't mind it for occasional use :)

It's on the pricier side, but the graco 4ever is super easy to install and adjust (no rethread harness). We have a safety1st grow and go which is similar only cheaper and definitely not as high quality, but it also has the no rethread harness for relatively easy adjustment - it's definitely not as easy as the 4ever though.

I am looking for a seat we can put in DH's car for the occasional trip the boys take in that car (maybe 1-2 times/month). If all four of us are traveling together, we just take my car, so I only need one.
DS1 is 3.5, still rear facing, and pretty darn small. 28 pounds, not sure on the height, but that won't be an important restriction (just because he's nowhere near the height requirement for most seats).
DS2 is almost 1, I'd guess 24ish pounds.

So I'm looking for a seat that's really easy to adjust for height, that I could quickly switch for whichever boy is traveling, and isn't too expensive since it isn't used extensively.

Eventually I'll need to switch DS1 to forward facing, so if it's easy to switch between ff and rf, that's a great bonus, too!

Suggestions?
