The black fabric almost feels like the spandex material that my old dance costumes were made of, haha. The gray fabric is bumpier though. I don't give her messy snacks and definitely no milk in the car, and luckily have never had to deal with vomit. So I vote easy install </p> <p>However I'm wondering if you are talking about the chicco nextfit zip off cover? The nextfit is super easy to install with latch, just FYI. The fabric is sort of silky so it's really easy to wipe off. LOVE!!! So easy to install and super comfy for my kids. Love the fabrics too. I don't think the covers would be too hard to clean. The marathon comes off in 3 pieces/areas of the seat so you can clean one specific area at a time if needed. All other major safety and weight limits are equal and price point is only 10$ different. Iniusy don't know which trigger to pull on this decision! </p>
