My son hated the newborn inserts in his seat and was much happier in a convertible because there was more room for him to spread out so grain of salt. I'll look at Graco. I should have added that I don't mind DS FF. He was before. We have that Cisco in my mom's car. Our travel car seat is a Cosco Scenera Next - weighs 9.5 pounds and costs $45 at Walmart. Installation was not bad and it's our backup in DH's car. Everyone is ok but that means we need new seats. Who wants to pitch their favorites?! We are on a tight budget, but will just have to make this work until insurance reimburses. Ugh. So, Diono and super top end brands are out. DS is 2 years old, 36 pounds, and over 3 feet tall. I'm thinking maybe a 5 point harness that converts to a high back booster or maybe a convertible. DD is 5 months, 16 pounds, over 2 feet long. We're going with a convertible for her because she is our last child and it doesn't really make sense to buy a seat we will only use for six more months, but it will suck not being able to transfer a sleeping baby easily in the dead of winter. Oh well. As far as I have found there isn't much overlap between budget friendly and suited for tall children. Thoughts? </p>
