I wonder if the recline angle would be too much for this to work. Does your kid get hot under there? I feel like a cookie sheet would get flung on the floor, but this might piss him off if he can't move it. It has side zipper pockets for markers etc. I got it when she was 4 so for younger I don't know. I know about the safety rules with strapping something to the carseat (don't do it) I'm just looking for something to put over her seat or on her lap to help balance things. </p>
