Has anyone used a tray like this with a car seat that's still rear facing? I wonder if the recline angle would be too much for this to work. Does your kid get hot under there? I feel like a cookie sheet would get flung on the floor, but this might piss him off if he can't move it. DS is 2 and I'm kind of dreading my next road trip, can you tell? ;)

I got a lap desk from this etsy site https://www.etsy.com/shop/KidEssence
I like that it sits higher so I don't feel like my kid has to slump over.

@Foodnerd81: yes, it does. There was also one on Amazon I think that worked - I measured - but I happened to find that one in store. The amazon was similar design (elastics to hold paper and side pockets) but no characters I think.

@bhbee: so that one fits between the Frontier arm rests? Not resting on the armrest, just on her lap? We have the same seat.

We have a little shopkins lap desk I found on sale at michaels and it works well for coloring. It has side zipper pockets for markers etc. I got it when she was 4 so for younger I don't know. I found it a little hard to find something that would fit between the arm rests (she sits in a frontier).

@Freckles: I don't have one, but for road trips I got a baking sheet for each of them from Dollar Tree. The rim held any crayons/markers from rolling off, and because it was magnetic, I could glue magnets onto puzzles and hot wheels for extra activities.

Thought i'd revive this thread to see if anyone else has a car seat travel tray, and how it's held up for long road trips?

Does anyone have a tray for their lo's carseat? Something to put up against it so they have a place for food or coloring books and crayons? I know about the safety rules with strapping something to the carseat (don't do it) I'm just looking for something to put over her seat or on her lap to help balance things.
