@ldh112: I think that'll work fine even if it ends up being a bit big. My youngest is 11 months 95% for height and 70% for weight and 18 months fits her pretty well right now. Some things are a little long but overall 18m is better than 12m.

@ldh112: I agree their leggings are so slim! DD is pretty avg size but thighs are still too chubs for 12 mo.

@regberadaisy: @runnerd: good thinking on at least sizing up slightly. either way its only like $8 so it won't be a huge loss if it won't work. i am not shopping ahead too much for this reason but i thought this was too cute to pass up!

Their boys clothes may fit differently, but DS is 25% weight and height, and since hitting 12 month sizing, pants are all over the place! (Fit matched age prior to that) He fits perfectly in some 18mo, other 18mo fall off him, some 12mo are tight, some fit perfect, some were still loose when we stopped wearing them due to season change. Tops are much more consistent in sizing for us.

I think the larger size for that style leggings though (and that outfit is so cute!)

@regberadaisy: yep, this.

That said, my daughter has measured in the 90th for healthy/weight since she was 6 months old, and tends to wear things about 3 months early. So at 12 months she was solidly in 18 month clothes. At 18 months she can wear anywhere from 18-24 months (and sometimes 2T).

Check the label to see if it indicates weight range (a lot of them do, I think), and use that and her growth curve to decide!

@ldh112: I would go 12/18m for sure! Those leggings look like they will be a very slim fit.

@regberadaisy: @oliviaoblivia: @snowjewelz: I attached a photo of the outfit! :)

I was hoping she could wear it April-June or so. She will be 1 in late June.

We've always had to size up in Carter's. My girls are tall and slim but not skinny. They're athletically built.

I love Carter's for my boy who is always 99th for height and around 30th for weight. If you're shopping ahead for spring I might go ahead and get some 12 month stuff, but that's just my experience. I'd rather have things be a little big than too small. It's hard to predict their growth. He's 19 months now and I've been buying 24 months Carter's PJs for this winter. He has one or two 18 month sleepers and I've noticed the arms are a little short and the feet are snug, but he does have big feet! ;)

Carters sizing is ALL over the place. It really really depends on the what kind of clothing it is, if your LO is tall, lean, chubby, etc. I generally size up for tops/bodysuits since my girls have longer torsos. And size correctly for bottoms. But leggings and such can be tight because they had/have Buddha bellies!

Currently my 5 month old fits great in their 6 month clothing. She is 90th for height/30th for weight. I am trying to take advantage of sales and plan a head a little for the spring time. When your kids were 9-12 months, were Carter's clothing still TTS? Trying to decide if she will be in 9 or 12 mo by the time she is actually 9+ months.
