Between the large basket and my stroller hooks, I can get a weeks' worth of groceries (7-8 bags). But if we're out in the suburbs and driving, we use a cart. Also, I have to be able to carry everything home so it has to fit in the stroller basket or not be too heavy for the walk home. The few times we have been in the US and gone to Target with them, they LOVE the shopping carts! But we also don't bring our stroller for those trips. It's more convenient, and I can have both kids in the cart. I especially love the double seats at Costco. When we go out of town lo thinks carts are the coolest thing. I think he likes sitting up high. We also use carts at Costco, but we drive there and don't bring the stroller. For bigger trips the cart is definitely needed. The other day though I needed to get just a couple things from the hardware store, so I used the double stroller. It was actually really nice getting them put in by the car and not having to have one of them walk or sit in the back of the cart.
