There's enough room around the ports to get my ear plugs and charger in and out.</p> <p>It's rubbery so I feel it cushions and protects my phone when I drop it.</p> <p>My husband has a Speck candyshell case and he hates it. There isn't a lot of room around the ports so the earplug falls out. I need to find a Speak Pixelskin HD in white for my husband. I looked a couple months ago and they didn't have it. Otter box is the way to go if you need protection. They can be pricy but you can drop your phone off a balcony and it'll be fine. Your phone will be bulky though. I personally prefer hard cases to rubber skins but both should be functionally.
