I got a raised eyebrow from the priest at the time (she was one of the not-officially-canonized saints), but then Pope Benedict named her a Doctor of the Church. ;) Some other favorites: St. Therese of Lisieux, Zelie Martin (Therese's mother), St. Francis of Assisi, St. Monica, and St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein). </p> <p>I understand being nervous. I was an adult when I converted. I think being older magnified the significance of it for me. And there was an uncomfortable feeling of being in the spotlight at Easter (while still being really new to everything!), although I am quite sure no one apart from my family was paying any attention to me at the Mass. In any event, that Easter vigil is at the top of my list of happiest memories and I love going every year.
